Christmas events in Eastbourne

If you live in or around the Eastbourne area and are looking for some fun and entertaining things to do this Christmas, here are 5 to whet your appetite:

1. Bauble Bonanaza - Pop into the Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre in Cornfield Road BN21 4QA anytime from now until Christmas Eve and grab the chance to take part for free in the spectacular Bauble Bonanza.

The ceiling will be covered in a dazzling array of decorations including a mind blowing number of dangling baubles.

Your task is to try and guess the total number of baubles hanging from the ceiling in order to enter this free competition. Staff will be on hand to take your details and the person who gets it right (or gets closest) will be announced on Christmas Eve.

As a bonus just for entering the competition, you'll also get some free tasty treats from the Reindeer Advent Calendar and if you're the lucky winner of the competition, you'll get a pair of free tickets to see this year's Panto, Snow White on January 4th along with a super sized Christmas stocking filled with a host of goodies!

The Centre is also providing a free 'Letters to Father Christmas' service for kids to post their letters to Santa, with guaranteed free delivery direct to the North Pole!

Opening times are 9am to 4.30pm weekdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

2. Snow White - If you didn't enter the competition and can't wait until Christmas Eve to find out if you've won, you can book tickets to see the Snow White Panto at Eastbourne Theatres during the festive season. The show is set to be full of top-class live music, a fabulous cast and dazzling choreography but (unlike the baubles) don't hang around! - Tickets are expected to sell out fast so book early to avoid disappointment.

3. Christmas Market - The market will be buzzing at the Eastbourne Bandstand this Christmas with over 35 festive stalls selling a range of local produce and handmade Christmas gifts. There's also a fairground and a Grotto for the kids. There'll be Christmas carols sung live from the bandstand together with a healthy dose of mulled wine if you fancy a glass!

4. The Winter Wonderland Illuminations - The dazzling light show on offer at Drusillas Park this Christmas runs until Sunday 1st January and is switched on daily from 10am. The official light show actually begins when it's a little darker at 4.30pm with a stunning wonderland scene that is synchronised to beautiful festive music.

5. Neon Noel - This one really is one not to miss. Although the show only lasts for about 4 minutes, it really is a state of the art stunning display that takes place on Eastbourne’s Town Hall clock tower. As you'd expect, it's free to view and you can get a taste of what to expect in the video below.

The Neon Noel show will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 18th December at 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm but bear in mind that there will be brief road closures around the clock tower so make sure you take this into account if you decide to go and see the light show.
